A Pretty Pair: 1981 Les Paul Artisan, 1984 Les Paul Custom

Quite the lookers, these two. The Artisan is special. Here's what the excellent "Modern Era Of The Les Paul Legacy: 1968-2009" book says about it:
"Frills, bells and whistles...loads of extra fingerboard trim, reminiscent of the early banjo days, was added to this fancy Les Paul Custom variation. Gibson's original Granada banjo design with the "exquisite hearts and flowers" patterns was artistically inlaid on the ebony fingerboard, along with the old-style Gibson script logo on the headstock"

This one is in really excellent condition. Tobacco Sunburst, Series VII humbuckers, TP-6 fine-tuning tailpiece(standard from 1978 on), built-in string winder tuners, 3-piece maple neck, no volute, multi-layered Custom style binding and on and on. The inlay is in near perfect condition.

The 1984 Les Paul Custom in Silverburst is equally amazing. The Silverburst option was available from '79 to '82, so this may have been a special order. This guitar is a 9.9 out of 10.

The guitars are in the new High-End and Vintage Room at Sam Ash Nashville, where the picture was taken. Call me cel at 615-507-8518 with any questions. Free 2-day drop-ship to lower 48 states!
