Good Little Pedal: M148 MXR Micro Chorus

This pedal is a great example of what big companies can do to stand their ground against the onslaught of popular small boutique builders: grab a classic design from the past, make it true to the original, add upgrades like true bypass switching and keep it under 80 bucks!
This little guy rocks! Pure honey-kissed chorusing, no detuning issues like the 2-knob versions, 100% analog bucket-brigade circuit and true bypass. At the slowest setting you get very subtle, almost imperceptible movement (kinda like my old Boss DC-2), at medium speed it's classic harmonic-rich swirl and dimed it warbles like a Leslie.

Being MXR it's built to last several lifetimes. In stock now and oh, by the by, it's under 80 bucks!!! Good clean fun. Call me at 615 507 8518 or call the store at 615 860 7475 and ask for Nick Kane. Free shipping to lower 48.

Gibson ES-Artist

From the island of wild and whacky ideas comes this 1980 Gibson ES-Artist. At the time it was certainly groundbreaking. This guitar has fully functioning electronics by Moog and features 3 toggle switches that control compression, brightness and expansion, all powered by a 9V battery. Also a master volume knob and active treble and bass knobs with boost-and-cut and a center-detent.
Gorgeous cherry sunburst (clownburst for the New Yorkers), stock TP6 tailpiece, ebony fretboard, side-mounted dot markers ala Chet, slim 3-piece maple neck and 'flying f-hole' headstock inlay round out this gem.
With the electronics turned off the guitar has a beautiful, rich and sparkling 335 tone. Without f-holes, there is no chance of unwanted feedback. The circuit board, courtesy of Bob Moog, has 3 trim pots for the various functions.
This is a very unique piece of guitar history and needs a good home. Chris Scruggs was here recently and loved it. Please call me at 615-507-8518 or call the store at 615-860-7475 and ask for Nick Kane. Free shipping to lower 48. Better yet, come by the store and play it yourself!

Sweet Gibson 12-String

Here's a very sweet little Gibson B-25-12 model 12-string guitar from 1969. Overall very good condition with fine finish checking throughout.
It has a wide neck and a 2" nut. Lots of space between strings. If you're into fingerpicks and Big Bill Broonzy then this is perfect.

Very nice dusky cherry sunburst finish that still has lots of energy after 40 something years.
Mahogany back and sides, comes with non-original (but period) case with groovy Alligator skin pattern. I've had a few like it over the years.
Priced to sell! Call me at 615 507 8518 for info. Or come by the store, Sam Ash Music at Rivergate Mall. Free 2-day drop shipping to lower 48.

Black Tele Madness!

Been gone for awhile but I'm back! Here's a nice trio of vintage Teles available at the store right now.
First is a cool black-on-black 1983 Tele Standard. All original with the funky early 80s bridge. Best thing about it is the price, under $1k! (just under). Comes with non-original case.

Next we have a nice 1975 Tele Deluxe with 3-bolt neck and big Strat headstock in great shape. Comes with original black Tolex case. Rock!

Finally here's another 1975 Tele. This one has some interesting finish checking and a few dings but plays and sounds great. Comes with original black Tolex case. Twang!

We got these for sale at Sam Ash Music in Nashville so come on down and see me sometime.

And The Angels Sing...EH Cathedral Reverb Pedal

We just received this spectacular pedal from Electro Harmonix: the Cathedral Reverb! It's hard to describe in brief how great this thing is, but check out this link for more:

http://www.premierguitar.com/Magazine/Issue/2010/Jan/Electro_Harmonix_Cathedral_Stereo_Reverb_Pedal_Review.aspx

My friend and fellow roaddog Jimmy Clark stopped in yesterday and spent an hour with this little beastie. He played a Tele through the Cathedral into an EH .22Caliber power-amp pedal into a 1x12 cab. One feature that knocked him out was the delay setting. What happens is the delay is generated by the reverb circuit, so you've got bonafide delay with this slight but exquisite wash of reverb in the background to sweeten everything just so. Plus the pedal is finished beautifully. It's going on my Christmas list for sure. Call me at 615-507-8518 to get yours.

Also just in: EH Memory Man with Hazari Looper, .22Caliber Power Amp pedal

Nashville Guitar Show 12/3

Howdy! I'm going to have a booth at the Nashville Guitar Show this Saturday 12/3 to promote the newly remodelled guitar department at Sam Ash Nashville. I'll have a few choice instruments on display and will be happy to spend time with everybody and yak it up. Come and see me, I'll be there from open (9am) until maybe 4pm or so. It's at the Tennessee Fairgrounds off Murfreesboro Road and Wedgewood.
